Celebrations in Ancient Quebec

Scenic Quebec City would be the final stop of our trip on 29 Aug. It is a three-hour journey from Montreal City, and for this ride we chose to use the Orleans Express bus service, and boy was it comfortable. The hours seemed to pass by so fast and before we knew it, we were hitting the Vieux-Quebec (Old Quebec). Founded in 1608, Quebec City is one of the oldest cities in North America!!!

Don't let yourself be fooled by the apparent sterility of the city scenes... you ain't seen nothing yet! These were photos taken off the coach as we were cruising into the outskirts of Quebec City. You'll soon see modernity morphing into history that has come alive!

Doris posing by the sweeping hills at the Battlefield Park. It was here in a time long forgotten that British, French and American revolutionary forces fought fierce pitched battles.

This ancient capital celebrates its 400th anniversary this year!!! What a time to be in the city. Celebration is in the air...

As we continued to explore the Battlefield Park, we finally arrived at the Citadel.

The famous gate into Old Quebec City... looks like a Roman arch doesn't it?

Old Quebec is built on top of a hill, so it's literally up and down the avenues...

Don't mess with this doggy!

The famous wall mural in the city - each individual portrayed represents a pivotal figure in the history of the city. Ahem, except the strange short lady next to the staircase... :p

Vive la Quebec!!! Not every place claim to be 400 years old and still be thriving right?

Here's another one of those life-like murals - one of two in Old Quebec.

The last of the Mohicans? Hahaha...

It sure is a naughty sign, but we have no idea what it has to do with a conventional clothing store.

The night scene is just as captivating.

My favourite shot... :)
