It's confirmed!

We are going to Canada! Really excited because I can see Niagara's Fall and play with the water on the boat ride. Josh and Yee have plans to join us in December to see Niagara but changed their minds because it will be too cold and the lure of Disneyland is far too great for them!

We intend to travel to Niagara for two days before going to Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City. That will take us about one week. Oh! I am super duper excited over this trip and I can't wait to see Enhan next month, and Josh and Yee at the end of the year. Wohoo!

Singing in the Train

Daniel's friend just recommended this clip to us. We enjoyed the singing very much. It's the acapella version of Phil Collins' "In the air tonight".

No TV

Haiz... our TV broke down two days ago. There was a short circuit when I reached home one afternoon and the next thing I knew, the TV couldn't work. Now it is at the workshop and we got to go TV-less for at least three weeks.

Oh and we just came back after watching Wall.E

Like Kungfu Panda, it is quite entertaining, though I must say Shriek seems like the classic or maybe it was the first in infusing adults joke. The others seem like replicas or with similar style. Anyway, if you have no plans this weekend, Wall.E is a good choice. Enjoy your weekends!

Korea, here I come!

For the whole of July, I need to be extremely disciplined because Daniel, my piano instructor, has gone back home to Israel for the long summer break. Hmm, well for the first week when he was gone, I actually slacked for a week… eww! But I was really diligent after that. I had actually transcribed a piece of music. That took me one WHOLE week! Listening, playing, replaying UMPTEEN times with my mac right before my keyboard. Argh! Hardwork! My next piece of homework is Someday My Prince Will Come from Snow White, in jazz. *faintz*

I have received news that I would be involved in a worship session in Korea. Just some background information, I will be heading to Seoul (ya, 13 hours of flight excluding domestic flight) for a church conference in July. My church is in charge of one session and would like me to play the second keyboard. But the problem is, I am not in Singapore so I have to practise on my own. I will not be able to rehearse with them till we meet in Seoul.

Dan went for the conference in 2006. Look at the number of attendees!

Argh… so I really need God’ grace. Lord, please give me anointing, like Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act!

UN Meeting

We had our second UN meeting with Dan's international course mates. There was a drizzle when we left our home and we were really blessed to catch this:

A beautiful rainbow, a reminder of God's covenant with us.

This is the longest rainbow we have ever seen in our life. There was more on the left but we were not able to capture it all.

Second UN meeting at Addis Red Sea Ethiopian Restaurant.

and the respective delegates from Israel, Morocco, Greece and Singapore.

Our appetizers

This cool and authentic Ethiopian restaurant was recommended by our Israel delegates - Gideon and Dana. Gideon is a chef from a hotel in Boston.

Dan had a sense of affinity with this big plate cos it reminded him of oriental ones in Singapore back in the 1960s.

Ms Sofia from Greece.

According to Gideon, the story of coffee has its beginning in Ethiopia, the original home of coffee plants.

Ethiopian coffee is served in small cups like Espresso. Cheers to good friendships and good health!

Boston Celtics Rolling Party

Celtics fans would definitely know this and never miss this - the Boston Celtics Rolling Party - for the NBA Champion of 2008.

Everyone loves the champion. At the party, many couldn't help but have a shot with this guy.

Cool family & cool dog!

Cheena all the way!

We were on our way to church this morning when we met a group of girls at the pedestrian crossing. It took us only two sentences to recognise these girls:

A: "Eh, later we go by this way, okie?"
B: "Huh? By the backdoor ah? Don't want lah!"

Singaporeans! What a nice way to start a day! Absolutely heart-warming to hear the distinctive Singlish in the midst of all the American accent!

I was then reminded of my craving for mee pok. Since we couldn't find Singaporean food here, we decided to try authentic Penang food. Yummy....

The Singapore heat has reached Boston... after being pampered by the cool weather here, we cannot stand the heat... 外面是热到... tomorrow it will be 35 deg, argh!

This is the famous Penang eatery in Chinatown

Oh... my coke..
Famous quote of Eric Chan: COKEChoice Of Kelly and Eric.

Curry Yong Tau Foo. Sedap!

My Asam Laksa

It has been a long time since I last ate fishballs. 鱼圆,鱼圆,我爱你!

Headed to a Chinese supermarket after lunch. They sell MILO! Made me crave for MILO Peng

Dan went gaga over the wide variety of sauces and pastes.

Me and my fishballs. How can I go home without a packet or two?

Lani rekindled my love for 旺旺雪饼.

Oh we were really surprised to see this poster. Remember her?

We bought some stuff. Actually we just bought a bag of Thailand Elephant brand Jasmine Rice (10 kg) yesterday from Shaw. It cost us US$30 and that's S$40! Ouch! Anyway, rice will be put aside for now because we have found our mee pok. We attempted to make char kway teow that day with the paste from Rachel and Lionel but it was quite bad because the quality of the kway teow wasn't too good. Well, Dan is kind of determined to make the mee pok da for me so I shall wait and see. Mee pok, mee pok, I love you!

Meet Miss Lani

Today, it rained again. The change in temperature here is really drastic. Sometimes it can be as warm as 32 degree celsius, and it can drop to 14 degrees when there is a downpour. Nevertheless, I welcome the rain, as long as my umbrella doesn't get blown away.

Fortunately, the rain was not too big and I managed to get to Lani's place without much difficulty. Lani is the girl whom I have been tutoring for the past two months.

Lani has a brilliant smile.
