Happy Lunar New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Our new dining table and sleeper's sofa from Bob's Furniture came in today, just in time for Reunion Dinner! Don't be fooled by this dining set because it is really high and huge. According to the three nice and friendly delivery men, this set is value for money because not just does it look aesthetically good, it is also solid and sturdy. We can actually expand the table to accommodate more people but since there are just two of us, we are happy to have it as it is. In fact, we had to move Dan's study table and book shelf into our bedroom to make way for this dining table. So no more study with a view but dining with a view. =) We've also got four high stools and one lazy Bob. At Bob's Furniture, they don't call it lazy Susan.

Take a look at what Dan and I had cooked for reunion dinner last night. Three dishes and one soup. Yummy! Not bad for our first reunion dinner in Boston. The first dish was pan fried salmon. It symbolized Nian Nian You Yu! Next, we had mixed Asparagus, Broccoli and Prawns that symbolized He Ha Dai Xiu! Then, we had chicken thighs in oyster sauce that symbolized Ji Yun Lian Lian! To top it off, we had soup of day - a mixture of everything we could find - potatoes, sweet corns, cabbage, chicken bones, onions and ginger. Erm, so it symbolized Da Jia Yi Qi Fa!

The masters behind the dishes.

The feeling of tasting our own cooking was FANTASTIC!

And I decided to strike a pose on my sleeper's sofa before eating. Shi shu fu de lor!

Ha ha don't envy us Ai Pei. We didn't get to eat mummy's cooking you know and we missed all the CNY mood in Singapore.
