It is Opening Day!

Today is an important day for ALL Bostonians because today is the Baseball World Series Opening Day. In case you don't happen to know, baseball is everything to Boston. Bostonians eat baseball, drink baseball, sleep baseball and breathe baseball. They are super proud of their Red Sox team because they are the 2007 World Series Champion

The opening is held like now... at Fenway Park against the Detroit TigersFor your information, we live in Fenway, the Sports Capital (or so they say). Our apartment is just a stone's throw from the stadium. We can feel the atmosphere. In fact, we can literally see and hear the excitement of Red Sox fans.

Cars are parked everywhere and they lined all the
way from the stadium to the road beside our block

Well, we were told by baseball fans that the tickets are extremely difficult to get. They had to book as early as December. They also warned us about the crowd before and after the game. So we got to print out the schedule, not because we want to catch a game, but to avoid the crowd and prevent from getting stuck on T.

Since we can't get in to watch the games, we have attached photos of the game today (oh yes, people nowadays are super efficient). Dan and I have also decided to take a stroll tomorrow night and listen to game live outside the stadium.

By the way, the Red Sox thumped the Detroit Tigers 5-0 with Daisuske Matsuzaka putting in a starring performance on a sunny, chilly and memorable afternoon at Fenway Park!
